Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to a reported firearms incident in Christchurch yesterday.
Police said they were alerted to someone using a firearm in their back lawn after 3pm yesterday in Papanui.
Canterbury Armed Offenders Squad attended and cleared the scene and a number of air rifles were seized, police said.
Police were continuing with their investigations.
