Auckland fog disrupts flights

Low-lying heavy fog in Auckland is disrupting flights.

Fog restrictions were put in place at Auckland Airport at 7.52am today.

Fifteen flights to smaller regional airports have been cancelled, and about 20 delayed.

Six flights into Auckland from larger centres, including Queenstown, Christchurch and Wellington have been delayed.

Passengers should contact their airline for more information.

The New Zealand Transport Agency said patches of fog have reduced visibility on some Auckland roads and drivers should keep their lights on and increase following distances.

Meanwhile, Devonport ferries were cancelled earlier this morning due to a breakdown.
