The body of a man found washed up on Christchurch's Sumner Beach at the weekend has been formally identified and the death referred to the coroner.
The body was found soon after midday on Saturday and police said there didn't appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
The man's next of kin had been advised but police have not publicly released his name.
