The body was found yesterday morning, almost two weeks after Mr Campbell was reported missing.
Mr Campbell's silver Nissan van, set up for camping, was found in the area, sparking an intensive search, on August 7.
Police said today the body had been recovered by Land Search and Rescue and identified as Mr Campbell.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.
