A woman's body has been found inside a burning house in Waikato this afternoon.
The body was discovered shortly after the Fire Service extinguished the blaze at an address on Springdale's Number 1 Road. Firefighters had responded to a call about a house on fire shortly before noon.
Police and ambulance services also attended the scene and the area has been cordoned off while fire and police staff carry out a scene examination.
The scene will be guarded overnight before the examination resumes tomorrow morning.
Police said no further information was immediately available.
