A person has died after their car left the road in Northland.
Police were called to the crash on Ford Rd in Towai, north of Whangārei, at about 2am.
The vehicle involved in the crash was discovered "off the road", police said.
"One person has died following the crash."
Serious crash investigators had been examining the scene, police said.
