A 12-year-old boy charged with manslaughter over the death of a west Auckland dairy owner will appear in the High Court at Auckland this morning.
The boy, whose name is suppressed, appeared in Youth Court in June where police laid the manslaughter charge in relation to the death of father-of-two Arun Kumar.
The boy entered no plea to that and an existing charge of assaulting Mr Kumar with intent to rob him at his Railside Dairy in Henderson on June 10.
Mr Kumar, 57, was stabbed in the neck about 7.30am.
Another boy, aged 13, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Kumar and assaulting him with intent to rob. He remains in custody.
He is due to stand trial in November and it was expected the 12-year-old would also face trial then.
