A vehicle thought to contain children has rolled south of Wanganui.
The crash occured on State Highway 1 near Marton about 12.30pm.
A police spokeswoman said the occupants were initially feared trapped but all had managed to get out.
Police could not immediately confirm how many people were in the car or whether other vehicles were involved in the incident.
All patients were in a stable condition.
