Police are investigating the death of a child in Aranui.
Emergency services were called to a property in Bournemouth Cres about 7.51am.
A police communications spokesman said police were attending after the "death of a small child", but very few details were able to be released at this time.
It is the second death of a child in Christchurch police have attended in the past week.
On Monday, emergency services were called to a Fitzgerald Ave home about 5am after reports a six-month-old baby had died.
