Court appearance for threatening to kill PM

A man charged with threatening to kill Prime Minister John Key has been remanded to reappear in Palmerston North District Court later this month.

Unemployed Palmerston North man Keith William Mabey, 21, entered no plea to the charge, which relates to an alleged incident on April 18, the Manawatu Standard reported.

He also faces wilful damage and driving charges.

Last week, Police Minister Judith Collins revealed that at least one person had been charged with making the threats against Mr Key after figures were released showing a blowout in the diplomatic security budget.
