Cyclist dies after crash in Christchurch

A cyclist is dead after being involved in a crash with a car in Christchurch last night.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Brougham St, near the intersection of the Christchurch Southern Motorway and Simeon St in Addington, just before 8pm. 

Police said the cyclist was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition where they later died.

An inquiry into the crash was under way.
