A Waikato farmer suffered a suspected spinal injury when he was struck by falling hay bales while working in his barn.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to the 37-year-old man's dairy farm near Parawera, southeast of Te Awamutu, about 8.30am yesterday.
He was treated by a St John paramedic at the scene before he was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
