One person is dead and another has serious injuries after a collision between a truck and a campervan south of Levin.
Police say the crash happened at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Kimberley Rd just after 1.10pm.
St John ambulance spokesman Steve Yanko said two people were trapped inside the campervan following the collision.
One died at the scene.
Another was freed from the vehicle by emergency services and was taken to Palmerston North hospital, Mr Yanko said.
It was understood the truck driver was uninjured.
Diversions are in place north, south and east of the crash site.
