Fire out at Wellington's Customhouse Quay

Crews are checking for hot spots at BP House on Customhouse Quay in Wellington after putting out a fire this morning.

Emergency services were called about 6.30am after smoke was seen coming out of the high rise building, the Fire Service said.

The scene was attended by 14 fire trucks, and the blaze was classed as a level three, on a scale of one to five.

The fire was now under control, but some fire trucks and a fire safety team remained at the scene checking for hot spots.
