A South Auckland tinnie house has been supplying drugs to people all over Auckland, all while a mother and her five children under seven lived there.
Students, office workers and retired people, including a grandmother, went to buy cannabis from the woman in the Otara house.
Police had raided the home three times and each time all five children were there, The New Zealand Herald reported today.
Earlier this month detectives saw 16 people from all over Auckland arrive at the house in three hours. One was a grandmother who said she was buying for her daughter, the newspaper said.
Most buyers worked in manufacturing, or office work, were retired or students.
Police said the 87 tinnie packets ready for sale at $20 each and nearly $900 in cash they seized was only a small part of the business. Dealers deliberately kept only a modest amount of drugs on their premises so if they were raided by police or stood over by other criminals they did not lose much.
An Otara woman, 40, and two men, 28 and 31, were charged with drugs offences.
