
John Marshall
The Wellington QC died surrounded by family at home this morning after being diagnosed with a brain tumour 11 months ago.
Mr Marshall was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the recent Queen's Birthday honours list for his services to the law. He had retired in March as Chief Commissioner of the Transport Accident Investigation Commission after a five-year term.
Mr Marshall was a litigator who also specialised in arbitration and mediation.
He is survived by his wife Mary and their three children, John, Annabel and Clementine, and granddaughter Rose.
