Human bones found at North Shore reserve

Human remains have been found at a North Shore reserve this afternoon.

A contractor was mowing lawns at the Totaravale Reserve when he saw some bones in a drain next to the reserve about 12.30pm.

Police were at the scene and a pathologist had confirmed that the bones were human.

The scene was being examined and the remains would be removed tonight and examined tomorrow.

At this stage it was unknown how long the remains had been in the drain or whether they belonged to a man or woman.

Police expected a further update to be provided tomorrow afternoon.
