Hundreds still without hot water after Auckland storm

Some Aucklanders remain without hot water after Tuesday's damaging storm.

Vector reported yesterday that 300 customers were without hot water across Auckland.

Hot water pilots had been repaired in New Lynn, and Vector crews were working on hot water pilots in Kelston, Henderson/Titirangi and Swanson yesterday.

Sandy Hodge, outage manager for Vector, said less than 15 individual customers were without power, after underground cable faults were resolved last night.

Wind gusts of up to 145 km/h left more than 90,000 people in Auckland without power at its height on Tuesday.
