Jetstar has apologised to passengers after changing part of its late evening weekday Auckland to Wellington flight schedule to free up aircraft for earlier flights to Rarotonga.
Times of Tuesday and Thursday evening flights have been changed, meaning passengers had to be rebook on other services.
They were told that the disruption could not be avoided.
"We understand it can be frustrating when plans change, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. While we try to avoid any changes to our timetable, in this instance it was unavoidable. "
A spokesman said the change was due to new times for its Auckland-Rarotonga flights.
The Jetstar Auckland-Rarotonga on Tuesday and Thursday will leave earlier to match the Saturday departure of just after 7pm to give a more consistent schedule on all three days, he said.
This meant that on those two weekdays the Wellington-Auckland schedule had to be changed, although it remains the same for the other five days.
