Five fire appliances are battling a large blaze at an animal feed store in an industrial park in west Ashburton this morning.
The fire service received multiple calls from members of the public at 12.05pm. The building is 1250sq m in size, Southern Fire Communications shift manager Brent Dunn said.
Appliances have come from as far as Methven to battle the blaze, which was seen venting through the building's roof.
The cause has not yet been established.
