Trevor Cooper, who scooped a $27 million Lotto win, has sold his Karaka mansion for $300,000 more than he paid for it.
The property sold for $2.5 million in September. The former Huntly Countdown worker bought it for $2.2 million in April 2012.
But Mr Cooper's gains may not be as lucrative as they first appear. Previous reports estimated that he and his wife, Sharie, spent $800,000 upgrading the property.
The work included a solar-heated swimming pool with a retractable cover, summer house and sauna.
The house was also extended to include an upper-level master suite, taking the home from three bedrooms and three bathrooms to four bedrooms and bathrooms.
The couple's wedding in February last year, at which Mr Cooper arrived by motorbike, was held at the home.
Mr Cooper also bought two other million-dollar-plus properties in the area for his sister and parents, who moved from West Auckland.
Before his 2012 windfall, Mr Cooper had been living with his flatmate in a rented property in Te Kauwhata.
The Karaka property, previously known as Stoney Bridge and owned by former horse breeder Mike Tololi, was transformed under Mr Cooper's ownership from a purpose-built equestrian facility into a petrolhead's dream with six-car internal-access garaging and two barns.
The 8.3ha property has a 2011 CV of $2,050,000.
The new owners, Richard and Christine Ranger, who run a transport firm, did not respond to the Herald's request for comment.
The property went on the market at the end of July and was to be sold by tender by Harcourts Papakura agent Lynn Lockhart, who could not be reached.
