Man charged with threatening to kill PM

A Mt Eden man has pleaded not guilty to allegedly threatening to kill the Prime Minister earlier this year.

Dean Robert Miller, 48, is charged with threatening to kill Prime Minister John Key with a firearm in Wellington on May 22.

Miller pleaded not guilty when he appeared in Auckland District Court this morning.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of seven years' imprisonment.

Miller has been remanded on bail and is next due to appear in court in August.
