Man injured in Christchurch road rage incident

A 37-year-old man received significant head injuries last weekend during what Christchurch police describe as a "road rage" incident.

At about 7.45am on Sunday the driver of a blue Isuzu Bighorn truck allegedly inflicted severe head wounds on the victim, who had parked his Green Toyota Granvia station wagon behind the man on Johns Road in Harewood, close to the Sawyers Arms Rd roundabout.

The assault happened on the roadside, close to the rear of the Bighorn truck, police said.

The attacker is described as being a man of Indian or Fiji Indian descent, aged in his early to mid-20s. He is about 186cm tall (6'1) and weights about 100kg.

Witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact detective sergeant Mark Worner of Christchurch Police on (03) 363 7996.
