A man who set alight a courthouse camera, while it was filming him, has been sent to jail.
Robert Ataria, 36, removed his sunglasses before looking straight into the camera at Napier District Court and trying to set it on fire, The Dominion Post reported.
Judge Tony Adeane said Ataria was "an inveterate lifetime criminal" and sentenced him to 42 days in prison and a $350 fine.
