A man has died in hospital following a car crash in Nelson last week.
Grant Keith McIsaac (67), from Wellington, was driving along State Highway 67 near Maruia Falls last Wednesday, when his van collided head-on with a truck on a one way bridge about 8pm, police said.
Following the crash he was taken to Nelson Hospital for assessment.
Police said his condition deteriorated, and he died in hospital on Saturday morning.
A post mortem examination would be carried out to establish the cause of his death.
The serious crash unit was investigating, police said.
Police said the driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash.
