Police are hunting two people who robbed a Bay View service station at knife-point last night.
Acting Senior Sergeant Clint Adamson of the Eastern District Command Centre said Bay View Mobil staff were "shaken up and shocked" after a male and female robbed the service station, otherwise known as J Young Motors, on Main North Rd, Bay View, at 8pm, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
The weapon used in the aggravated robbery was described as a knife or "possibly a machete", but there had been no injuries, Mr Adamson said.
Police were speaking to service station staff and witnesses of the incident last night, as well as reviewing security camera footage.
However, they were unable to confirm what had been taken in the incident.
The getaway vehicle was described as a late 80s Ford Falcon, which witnesses said was blue or green. The incident comes after a 19-year-old man held up a Z service station on Heretaunga St in Hastings in March.
The man gave service station staff a note saying he had a gun and demanded money.
The attendant handed over a small sum of cash and the man ran off.
Shortly after armed police raided a King St property were the alleged offender was taken into custody.
Some cash was recovered from the home.
The man was charged with robbery the following day.
Anyone with information relating to last night's robbery is urged to contact Napier police or leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
