Two Christchurch trampers who failed to return from a walk at Arthur's Pass have been located this morning safe and well.
A search resumed for the 56-year-old man and his 24-year-old daughter today. They were found about 8.40am and were to be airlifted to safety, police said.
The pair had left for an overnight tramp on Saturday and were reported overdue on Sunday night.
They had been travelling from Klondyke Corner to the Waimakariri Falls and Waimakariri Col area.
A helicopter searched the area yesterday.
