A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a car south of Auckland this morning.
The crash happened on Onehunga Harbour Rd, near the off-ramp of the Southwestern Motorway just before 7am.
Extensive delays are expected as the road closures include part of the off-ramp, Nielsen St and Onehunga Mall.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
The man was in critical conditon after the crash but has since died.
NZTA is advising motorists to use the Queenstown Rd off-ramp or an alternative route.
The Serious Crash Unit will investigate.
