Murder probe after body found

Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 24-year-old male was found at an Auckland address last night.

The body was found in Fiesta Drive, Half Moon Bay, 3kms from where a driver suffering stab wounds crashed into the side of a house.

Detective Inspector Jim Gallagher said the incidents were connected.

He said the sole occupant and driver of that vehicle was found with what appeared to be knife wounds and was covered in blood.

The driver is currently being treated in Middlemore Hospital.

Gallagher appealed for sightings of the 1996 silver Mitsubishi Mirage Sports between the times of 9.30pm to 11pm on Friday evening
