A new national awards scheme for projects which benefit conservation has been launched.
The $90,000 WWF-New Zealand Conservation Innovation Awards aim to showcase novel and effective ways to support communities to protect and restore biodiversity.
First prize in each of three categories - product, project and research - is a $25,000 grant, with three runner-up grants of $5000 each.
Entries close on September 30 and winners will be announced at an event in Conservation Week, in November.
