A person is dead after a crash at an Auckland intersection today.
The single-vehicle incident happened at the intersection of Great North and West Coast Roads in Kelston, just before 3.30pm, police said.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.
The Waitemata Serious Crash Unit was investigating the incident.
Police warned drivers there would be "significant delays" in the area.
Great North Road was being used as one of the alternative routes for this weekend's partial closures of the North Western Motorway.
Diversions were are in place around the scene, police said.
They urged drivers to avoid the area.
