A man is dead after crashing a quad bike near Waimate overnight.
The crash happened at the intersection of Hakataramea Highway and Shearers Hill Road, southeast of Waimate, just before midnight.
Police said they would be notifying the man's next of kin this morning.
The serious crash unit was investigating.
