A person has died in flames in Hamilton this morning.
Emergency services were called to a person on fire in Ridout St in suburban Maeroa about 10am.
Firefighters helped ambulance and police to extinguish the person's clothing, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Megan Ruru said.
The person had since died.
Police said the fire was not suspicious and the death has been referred to the coroner.
They would not release the person's age or gender.
