Police are still trying to find two people who may be linked to a central Auckland home invasion that left a woman with life-threatening injuries early last month.

A man broke in to the woman's Eden Terrace flat on December 2.

The woman heard a noise and came downstairs to find a man going through her possessions.

She confronted him but he hit her in the head with a bottle, then beat her around the head and face, leaving her unconscious for a lengthy period of time.

The woman's injuries were initially life-threatening but she is now recovering.

Less than an hour later, a man and a woman arrived at the Z Service Station in Royal Oak.

They were driving an allegedly stolen Isuzu Bighorn, which was later found abandoned in Otahuhu. The woman then allegedly attempted to use the victim's stolen credit card.

Anyone with information is asked to call Avondale police on 09 213 7579.

Information can also be given anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
