Powerball jackpots to record $50m prize

An outrageous $50 million is up for grabs this Saturday after tonight's $42m Lotto Powerball prize rolled over.

Six lucky players - including one ticket bought in Dunedin - split $1 million for First Division - but no one clinched the $42m Powerball prize, which now surges to $50m this weekend.

The Dunedin ticket was bought at New World Centre City.

This weekend's jackpot is tipped to be the biggest ever win in New Zealand.

The winning numbers were: 30, 8, 2, 33, 21, 3, the bonus ball was 13 and the Powerball was 6.

“The jackpot has reached a jaw-dropping $50 million and must be won this Saturday," said Marie Winfield, Head of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Lotto NZ.

"If a single player is lucky enough to win Powerball, they’ll enter Lotto NZ’s history books as the largest prize winner ever!”

In a Must Be Won draw, if no single ticket wins Powerball First Division, the prize pool rolls down to the next highest division with winners.
