Primary school teacher on child sex charges

An Auckland primary school teacher faces charges involving two child victims, including paying the boys for sex.

The man was given name suppression when he appeared yesterday in North Shore District Court yesterday, the New Zealand Herald reported.

He faces charges of indecent assault, paying to perform sex acts on the boys and arranging for them to travel with him with the intention of committing an indecent act.

The man is alleged to have formed separate relationships with the boys over fours years from September 2005, during which time they were between 12 and 16.

He is due to reappear in court next month.

The Teachers Council said yesterday that neither the teacher nor his school had notified it about the case, something the council said should have been done.
