A man who was run over in a driveway in Pukehina has died.
Fire Service Northern Communications manager Scott Osmond confirmed the death but was unable to give more details of the incident as police were investigating.
Police Inspector Kerry Watson earlier confirmed police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene as well as a helicopter shortly before 8am.
Police said Old Coach Road was closed between Macdougall Quarry Rd and Ohinepanea Rd and would be for some time. Serious crash investigators were also making their way to the scene.
