Quake strikes off Marlborough coast

A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Seddon, in Marlborough, this morning.

The quake occurred at 5.15am, 30 km southeast of Seddon and 14km deep.

It had a Mercalli Intensity of 5 and attracted 41 'felt' reports on GeoNet's website from as far north as Wellington and Christchurch to the south.
