The royal couple have spent time at a famous Wellington cafe before heading across Cook Strait to the Abel Tasman National Park, where they will go on a bush walk and be treated to a barbecue.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in the country yesterday for their four-day New Zealand tour and received a rapturous welcome.

This morning, Prince Harry and Meghan visited the capital's iconic Maranui Cafe in Lyall Bay where they met with a number of young people in the mental health sector.

Now they travel to Abel National Park, in the North of the South Island, where they'll be treated to a barbecue and meet with some local youth ambassadors and school children.

Later this afternoon Prince Harry and Meghan will embark on a bush walk.

And in the evening, the couple will visit Courtney Creative for an event celebrating the city's thriving creative arts scene.
