Road deaths are 17 higher than at the same time last year, the Ministry of Transport says.
As of today, 214 people had been killed in 184 crashes, compared with 197 deaths in 178 crashes last year.
Of those killed, 142 were male and 72 were female, the ministry said.
Most of those who died were aged between 25 and 39.
