The highway was closed when heavy rain last weekend caused an underslip affecting 20 metres of the main road link between Northland and Auckland.

Elsewhere in the region traffic was flowing well on a temporary SH1 diversion around the Maromaku slip near Kawakawa through SH1, and SH12 at Kaihu was open to a single lane.
