Slain Winz worker to be farewelled on Monday

The funeral of slain Work and Income staff member Peggy Noble will be held on Monday in Ashburton.

Family notices published today described Mrs Noble, 67, as a loved partner and mother of two and a loving sister.

"Special Nana Peg of all her grandchild and a loved 'Aunty Peg' to many," one notice read.

Her sister Rose and children Geneva and Alex said she was "dearly loved".

"Precious memories of you will last forever," their notice read.

Mrs Noble will be farewelled at 11am on Monday at the Ashburton Trust Event Centre, followed by interment at the Ashburton New Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs Noble was also a stepmother to her partner Donald Campbell's children, and others from a previous marriage.

Mr Campbell's children Dave, Nicola and Lisa also published a notice.

"Forever thankful for the years you spent making our dad so happy, a special part of our lives and a much loved Bonus Grandmother to our children. You will be sadly missed," they wrote.

Details for Leigh Cleveland's funeral are yet to be released.

Survivor Lindy Curtis remains in Christchurch HOspital in a stable condition. Her daughter told the organisers of a candlelight vigil in Ashburton last night that her mother was "doing very well".
