Police have credited social media with helping lead to the arrest of a man suspected of fraud in the Taupo area.
A man suspected of committing offences against tourist accommodation providers has been arrested.
As a result of publicity, a member of the public spotted someone fitting the description of 44-year-old Tony Ashley Gorrie in Taupo last night.
He was quickly arrested and will appear in court today facing a number of burglary and fraud charges.
Police thanked the media and the social media community for assistance in circulating the appeal.
