Soldier charged with assault gets name suppression

A second soldier has been charged over the indecent assault of a fellow soldier at the Linton Military barracks in February.

The 19-year-old South Island man was yesterday granted name suppression in Palmerston North District Court until he appears again on June 24.

No pleas were entered to charges of indecent assault and of making an intimate visual recording, the Manawatu Standard reported.

Earlier this month, an 18-year-old Christchurch soldier was granted name suppression when he appeared in Palmerston North District Court on indecent assault charges.

He was remanded to a Wanganui address and will reappear in court again on June 12.
