Suppression orders shroud case in secrecy

A man's trial on eight sex-related charges is shrouded in secrecy.

The trial judge has today confirmed wide-ranging suppression orders made earlier.

Those orders prohibit publication of any details which could lead to the man being identified.

As well as his name and age, the man's occupation and place of work have also been suppressed.

And the judge banned reporting of any details of the charges and where the trial is being held.

After a lengthy selection process, a jury of eight women and four men has been chosen to hear the case.

The trial is expected to take about six days.
