A teenage girl has been charged with the murder of a youth who collapsed and died while shopping in Whangarei last week.
Suppression was lifted yesterday for Shaylene Wharerau, 17, who is accused of stabbing Brendon Panapa-Ripia, also 17, in the chest three weeks ago, Newstalk ZB reported.
He underwent surgery for his injuries but died last week while shopping at the Warehouse.
Wharerau entered no plea when she appeared in Whangarei District Court last week and was bailed to reappear next month, Newstalk ZB reported.
