Teenagers seriously injured in Southland crash

An 18-year-old man and and 18-year-old woman were airlifted to Southland Hospital, in Invercargill, with serious injuries after a crash near Riverton last night.

The crash involving two cars happened at 6pm at the intersection of Isla Bank and Flints Rds, Senior Sergeant Maggie Windle, of Invercargill, said.

The crash happened when the driver of a Nissan Navara travelling north and turning into a driveway and a Mazda Lantis collided, Snr Sgt Windle said.
