Thieves have made off with $15,000 worth of the energy drink V in a burglary in south Auckland.
Eight pallets of the popular energy drink were stolen from a commercial premises in Wiri overnight on December 15, Counties Manukau police said.
"Given the large quantity of cans it is likely that these offenders are looking to offload the stolen property as soon as possible. They could be attempting to sell them cheaply, or perhaps someone will be receiving a pallet of V for Christmas," Inspector Bruce O'Brien said.
"Remember that if you are approached with a deal that sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
The retail value of the stolen drinks was $15,000, he said.
"We urge anyone with information on this incident, or any other incident involving stolen property, to come forward," Mr O'Brien said.
"With the help of the public, we can reduce property crime by targeting known receivers and the trade of stolen goods."
Anyone with information on the stolen V is asked to contact Counties Manukau Police on 09 261 1300, or anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
