Threat to kill charge laid

A man has been charged with threatening to kill a Canterbury dairy farm worker who was found dead at his Rakaia home.

Tony Grant Waldron was found in his bed with a gunshot wound at his Gardiners Rd home on Wednesday morning. A homicide investigation is under way.

The accused has not been charged over Mr Waldron's death.

He was expected to appear in the district court on this morning.

He faces charges of threatening to kill, being in possession of a .22 calibre rifle, and one drug charge relating to cannabis.
