Authorities are still trying to identify a man who was struck and killed by a train in Auckland today.
A train driver reported seeing the man on railway tracks at Orakei Basin about 6.35am.
The driver reported to police that he heard a noise when he passed the location where he had seen the person.
Police arrived at the scene and found a body on the tracks.
Police would be investigating the incident on behalf of the coroner, a police spokeswoman said.
